One of the year’s highlights is recruiting, meeting, and working with newly graduated CCC Backcountry Corpsmembers on our Bigfoot Trail Alliance Siskiyou Wilderness Collaborative. This year was no different.
Planning the trip this year was more stressful than usual due to circumstances out of our control, but eventually we were able to fully fund it thanks to the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment and other Bigfoot Trail donors. Special thanks to Joe Gillespie, Calder Bullwinkle, Aaron Babcock, Donna Peppin, Jacob Shinners, Terri Vroman Little, Allison Poklemba, and many more for helping make this a reality.
This group worked the Kelsey Trail between Eight Mile Camp and Baldy Peak — clearing approximately 6 miles of trail including brushing, tread work, and downed tree removal. I recommend checking this section out next summer and reporting back. It is one of our favorite and most remote sections.
