FS 30 to Junction City
Mileage: 65.2
Resupply: Hayfork and Junction City
This is the lowest elevation section of trail. The first 15 miles are along the wild and scenic South Fork of the Trinity River, a region that one day might become wilderness. From there the trail climbs up out of the canyon toward Hayfork and serpentine soils become common. Fire scars will be found as well, as this is a common phenomenon in this region of the Klamath Mountains. From Hayfork, the trail currently follows Big Creek–a shady, cool walk, over the Trinity Mountains to Junction City.
